Claire Hartman has authored two books based upon
Shirlee Holmes, the granddaughter of Sherlock Holmes, living at 221 Baker
Street, San Francisco. The first one was published in 2001 and the second
has just been completed. Claire has lived in California her entire life
and knows the history and geographic settings of her stories well.
Her first book "The Sutro Murder Case" takes place at the Sutro
Baths. The Sutro Baths are a hallowed place in San Francisco, modern
ruins on the edge of the continent. Crashing waves, labyrinthine
structures, wild lilies, cliff-lodged cypress trees reaching towards the ocean,
a thundering cave and but a single signpost warning you of getting thrown off
rocks and dying.
Claire picked the perfect spot for Sherlock Holmes' tempestuous granddaughter,
Shirlee to share a multi-faceted, shocking and terrifying experience with her
friend Dr. Jaan Watson.
Claire's companion is Mischa, a Bichon Frise on the AKC register as "Crown
Prince Mischa Bichon.") |
