An Unexpected Astronomical ResultIn July of 2004, two astronomers were trying to take a picture of Rigel, a blue star that represents the foot of Orion, The Hunter. One problem, Rigel was below the horizon so the telescope was pointing at the ground. And just below Orion's foot is the constellation Lepus, The Hare. Unwittingly, the astronomers picked up Lepus.For those who do not follow astronomy, at the left of your screen are pictures of The Hare, proving that the ancients who named our constellations either had very good eyesight or very good imagination.
