Couple  Power of Positive Eating

Diets are not fun

Yet many try them by the dozens, over and over again.  I, along with many other overweight people refuse to diet.  Life is too short to give up the pleasures of eating, but I have seen the Light -- Light Cooking, that is.

Can one have their cake and eat it too?  Absolutely!  There are no secrets, just four common sense rules:

1.  Cooking  light.
2.  Eating on a  schedule.
3.  Eating measured amounts.
4.  Regular exercise.

The Power of Positive Eating will be a regular feature of this website including recipes and cooking techniques that make healthy eating a pleasure. Contributing recipes and your personal cooking tricks are welcomed. Mail them to the editor.

History

There are many excuses for being overweight and I have used most of them. My most strongest excuse is that diets are too much trouble, they interfere with living.

This website has created new friends and activities for me. Three of my new friends have type 2 diabetes. I needed to learn what precautions diabetics must exercise in order to live mainstream lives. A new member of my astronomy team, Mr. Robert Harrison, is one who has learned how to maintain a productive life while living with diabetes. He has educated me that sensible eating does not have to be painful nor disruptive; just intelligently structured.

Another new friend, Ms. Micki Nichka, has been an avid advocate of Cooking Light. She has taught me that Cooking Light does not mean giving up exciting and flavorful foods. Nor does it mean limiting one's social entertainment.

No diet, just common sense. It can be done with attitude!
