Bugs  Introduction

The Major has been a professional photographer and will pass on helpful hints in using digital cameras in ways that are not necessarily found in conventional instructions  I do no know anybody who would go out and buy an V-8 hot-rod car and then take out one-half of the sparkplugs.  Yet that is exactly what many are doing with their digital cameras.

Topics in this series will include:
  • Introduction to photography.
  • How to move beyond "Aunt Mamie" shots.
  • How to capture the best pixel resolution.
  • Why exposures are often wrong when using automatic cameras.
  • Camera view-finders can mislead.
  • Why some buildings lean backwards in images.
  • Why squares are not always square.
  • Shooting into the light.
  • Using an alternate flash.
  • Taking great portraits -- it is a talent!
  • Taking close-ups -- it's an art!
  • Using flash for daylight pictures.
  • What is par-focal and when to use it.
  • Some interesting practice shots.
  • Why professional photographs look professional.
With photographic knowledge comes photographic pride.  Be proud, not just of your family, but also of the photographs of your family.
